I can’t find articles on it, but does anyone know of studies on dogs that smile for cameras? Because I’ve met a few dogs that I used to groom who would grin every time I pulled out my phone, and idk if that’s a trained thing or a thing they observed. My own dog, Annabelle, does it. She smiles for every photo, but she doesn’t smile if you ask (if you don’t have a camera). It’s weird. I know some dogs smile because they’ve observed that humans smile when they’re happy, so they wanna communicate with us like that, but for a camera?

Like Annabelle does this half open smile every time she sees a camera. And you can see her tongue isn’t blurred, so she’s not panting. She genuinely smiles if she noticed you taking a picture

And she’s done this her entire life. This is her at 9 weeks old, doing her weird little smile
