My mom has befriended a grackle that she has named Cracker. She named him this because she used to feed him crackers when she ran out of bird seed so she would call out, “come get a cracker” and he would show up. She now has bought him some native fruits to AZ that he would eat in the wild, some seeds, and some nuts. Cracker has even brought his girlfriend to meet my mom, but we don’t have a name for the girlfriend yet. Cracker seems to be a sweet boy so far

I forgot to get a picture of Cracker but we now call his girlfriend Cheese and they LOVE my niece. Cracker even let my niece touch his beak. And since she has learned how to say “Cracker” he now comes when she calls him. She technically says “Cwaca” but he gets it. Our dogs also know who Cracker and Cheese are, so they don’t chase them away. Sometimes Harley will bark to let us know that they’re waiting outside for food, but she doesn’t go after them.
